LIVE: The 2019/2020 budget reading

Finance minister Matia Kasaija says that Uganda has made substantial progress towards the goal of a middle-income status  and to back up his statement he gave out some examples which included,

  • Services have increased to 48.7% today from 32% in 1986.
  • National grid electricity connections have increased to 1.3 million customers. mentioned but a few

The Government of Uganda expects to generate a total of sh20 trillion from taxes and non-tax revenue while the remaining sh20.4 trillion will be secured from both external and domestic borrowing.
