Edrisah Musuuza (Eddy Kenzo) went from a homeless child selling water on the streets of Uganda’s capital to one of East Africa’s biggest musical sensations with over 100 million YouTube views, seven albums, numerous collaborations with Africa’s top artists and a charitable operation.
At the age of four, Eddy lost his mother who was his everything. Unable to locate his father, he spent the next 13 years as a homeless child growing up in the streets—what he dubs the “University of Understanding”. Music was his safe haven amidst the street hustle.
His God-given talent in singing, songwriting, and dancing quickly became apparent as Eddy Kenzo became a household name across Uganda.
With over 50 million YouTube views alone, his song “Sitya Loss” was his first breakthrough on the international stage. It presents the fundamentally positive message of not fearing loss and instead of enjoying life. Such is the character of Eddy Kenzo’s music: pure positivity.
He also won the Best African Entertainer award at the 36th edition of International Reggae and World Music Awards.
Eddy Kenzo is a passionate footballer. As a homeless child, he was referred to an elite secondary school to play on scholarship. He currently provides extensive financial support to football talent initiatives in the communities of Uganda.
Edrisah Musuuza (Eddy Kenzo) is a happily married man with two known kids(Daughters) and wife Rema Namakula who is also one of the most talented and trending Female Artists in Uganda and some parts of the World.
